We took our Show Team to Sundance today for a horse show. They did great, blue ribbons all around! I am so proud of these girls, they have been working their tails off and it really showed today!

HORSEBACK RIDING
Winston Churchill once said no hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle. That's a little hard to get if you never learned to horseback ride. Paige Livert knows. While she grew up riding horses, she regularly hears from adults who say they wanted to ride when they were kids but their parents couldn't put them in lessons. Several show up at Blue Moon Farms in Kings Mountain, co-owned by Livert. There she and others instruct them on how to mount, steer and stop a horse and how to position themselves on the majestic animals. I think the adults are probably just as excited as kids, Livert said. One advantage adult learners have is that they're usually more coordinated and physically capable. They're also often more considerate of the horse's feelings. After becoming comfortable with the horse, many adults can become good riders within a couple of months.

Our Farm Camping Trip/Trail Ride on May 5-7 was a success. After a rainy beginning, we had a blast. Saturday, cleard up nicely and we were able to ride and enjoy the trails at Croft State Park. We had a great campfire Friday and Saturday Night. We were able to fend off the Racoon and salvage enough food to get us through the rest of the weekend. We plan to have another camping trip soon, only this time we'll go for four days.

Photos coming soon!
